It has been far too long...

and it still will be longer.

I just wanted to let all of you know that things are going well here. The boys are growing bigger and bigger every day. I hope that I will be able to get some pics up very soon. I have updated my other blog about the newest news on W, check that out if interested. Miss you all!!

Where have the pictures gone...

Well, they are still on the camera of course. Things here have been crazy, to say the least. Two weeks ago, we were all hit with an out of this world stomach flu type illness. Poor W had it for almost 2 weeks! Then as we were all starting to pull through, a horrible winter storm rolled through and left us with out electricity for six days! And now this week, I have some sort of cold/flu that is really kicking my butt. So pictures are not on the computer for almost 3 weeks. Please don't forget about our happenings here. I will try my hardest to keep up with this blog but after this week, we will no longer have internet connection. We have some major events going on this month, that I am sure all of you would love to see! *coughcoughB'sfouthbdaypartycoughcough* And I will do my best to get some pictures on this blog as soon as I can. I don't think I will be able to get every days pictures on here but I will do my best.

Such a wintery day...

We finally got some snow!!! B already had the day off to celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day so we didn't have to worry about getting out. So what do you do on a day when you have no place to be?????

First, you play in the snow!! This was the first time W has been in the snow. It was such a blast!

After lunch we finger painted!! I can honestly say that I was never ever brave enough to do this with B. He has actually never painted here before. But I was in some crazy mood today and brought the paint out! B was a painting pro. W, however, was well hungry. We started a Valentine's Day project that we hope to finish later this week.

W showed me his stuff this morning while B was at Mamaw and Papaw's house.

Celebration day...

Grandpa's birthday was Thursday and we spent the day today celebrating his special day!! After we got all our errands ran, we went to Grandpa's house! We played and played and played there. W showed Grandpa is brand new trick of using his walker. We took Grandpa out to dinner for his birthday. And of course in true Grandpa form, he picked Culver's (what is it with the guys in my life and beef?) It was tasty!!

Family night...

We had our first 4 member family movie night. It was great. Popcorn, cookies, movie, and cuddle time!! B didn't make it the whole way through the movie but W sure did.

Before the movie, the boys and I did a little Wii playing at Mamaw and Papaw's house. And this is W's new favorite way to sit on their sofa.

The things you gotta do...

When we bought this house, we really were not thinking. There is no place to put our computer other than our bedroom (but that will only work if we remove the chest of drawers and sit on the bed) or the living room. So living room it is. Well, we learned the hard way what happens when a computer gets shut off by pushing the button too many times, it dies. (Thanks B for teaching us that.) So we had to come up with some way to get the computer away from W. Not only does W try to turn the computer off, he also tries to unplug the computer and stick his finger in the outlet. Did I mention how busy he keeps me?? So my wonderful husband came up with this....










Not the cutest but it is quite genius! Thanks Bry!!

Day late. Sorry about that.

W has figured he can pull up on the gate. AND he now knows if the handle isn't latched, he can and will open the gate!! We have had a few face plants these last few days. Ouch!!







And well I had to throw this in for today as well! W playing B's Leapster!

On Daddy's watch....

I come home this afternoon to find that B has gotten himself dressed. However he got his pants from W's drawer. So my boy who should be in 4T fit into his brother's 18 months no problem expect for them being too short. Of course Bry just let him continue to go around wearing W's pants. I am kinda glad since I have based daily blog about it.

The picture is horrible, it was taken with my phone. Please ignore W's nasty dirty face. Notice how my living room becomes the closest train station, this is on a daily basis.

Becoming more independent with every new day...

It feels as if I was just changing this child's diapers or nursing him to sleep. But sadly, this child is growing more and more independent every day. When I look at B, I wish I had a remote to slow down time. It is such a bittersweet moment to witness a child grow up. So proud and excited to see them do all the tasks we take for granted, the very first time and so sad knowing that soon you will just be the mother watching her grown child from afar. Oh the moments that you want to have burned into memory forever!

Here is one of B's many firsts. Buttoning his own shirt. I had no idea he could do it or even wanted to try. But as I went to help him with it, I heard, "I wanna do it by myself." His favorite new sentence.

A rare occasion...

*1/10/09

I actually had a reason for doing my hair and make up. Bry's work had it annual after Christmas Christmas party. So I took time to look like a woman today!! And was rewarded with alcoholic beverages! Which happens less than me doing my hair. Amazing how boring I can be, isn't it? Well, anyway a self portrait pre-party Nina. There was supposed to be a post party Nina, but if you are one of the lucky ones that have actually seen me intoxicated, you know that there is no way in heck I would be able to take a self picture. Shoot I do well just being able to go to the bathroom without help. And if I trusted myself with my camera, that would have made for one funny photo.

Never a dull moment...

Our life can get really crazy at times. And this has been a pretty crazy week! Today we took W to the dr again for the second time this week. I was sure he had a hemorrhoid. Which totally baffles me considering this boy poos all day long. Well long story short, JLo (this is my nickname for his in town ped) walks in with ..........




She talked to the drs up north about W. And he needs to have some testing done on his stool. It turns out that he has rectal prolapse. Basically, his insides are falling out of his butt. So they need to do some extra testing to make sure it isn't anything more serious than just a rectal prolapse. Of course JLo told me all the things she is testing for and I googled them. I will not pass them on because no one needs to read what I just did.

Let me tell you this weekend is going to be really tough. If any of you have experience getting a stool sample from a child in diapers that won't sit still, please give me some advice. Thanks!

Socks are the hardest....

I know I have already posted a sock pic. But today was the day that I decided B was old enough to dress himself. He picked out his own clothes and put them on all by himself today. I know it has taken him a while, but I think we are finally getting to the days where I only need to dress two of my boys instead of three. (For all of you mathletes out there, I still pick out most of Bry's clothing but he does at least dress himself.) I really wanted to get some full body shots of B with his outfit but he wasn't up for that today (he is such a drama king, I wonder where he got that? LOL!) So fall in love with B's sock talent!




And this picture isn't from today and it isn't the best. It was from last evening when we had our Christmas meal with our bestest family friends (the M family). And they totally made our boys the COOLEST present ever!! My boys have there very own tepe!! Handmade and all. Kick butt cool. Who wants to come over and build a fire and paint our faces and do some Indian chants (any of you know any Indian chants?) Cause I am sure me and the boys will be game!!

B and W got matching pjs (thanks Mom) for Christmas. Of course that makes for a great photo, right??? But not this day. I didn't really get a good pic of both boys together, so we will settle for each boy by himself.

W took a big step today. He cruised from one piece of furniture to the next. He carried that box from the Ottoman to the chair!! So proud!!

B was sick when Bry's side of the family had Christmas, so we celebrated with his Mom later. And this pic cracks me up!! He opened this gift and exclaimed, "I got mail!!" He was so happy to get a box from the postal service! LOL!! Grandma, I think you should use that box for him every year.


We took some noise makers to Mamaw and Papaw's that evening for the New Year. B couldn't get them to work, but he sure looks cute trying!


Of course it wouldn't be a Nina's New Years Resolution unless I did it my way. And what is my way you ask, not doing it completely. Yep I totally left my camera at my parent's house on New Year's Eve. Therefore, the very first day of my Resolution, there is no picture!! Sometimes I crack myself up!!

Can you tell by the way W looks, why I haven't taken a pic since the 4th?? My poor baby. Yesterday we spent the day at the drs office and the hospital trying to see if his shunt was malfunctioning. Praise the Lord that it isn't but crap on them for not being able to fix him.
